E-commerce UX Design Tips for Your Project
The importance of UX design in any e-commerce product can hardly be overestimated. The number of orders and satisfied customers in the future depends on how functionally correct and clear your user’s interaction with your online store will be. Therefore, we would like to share with you a few tips on creating the right UX design for your store so that users will come back, again and again, to shop for you!
Homepage. The home page is the first thing your users interact with — it’s the starting point where you need to immediately grab attention and encourage them to click through to other landing pages in your online e-commerce store. Therefore, when creating a design for such a page, it is crucial to structure it, make it as convenient as possible for interaction, so that your user can easily find a visible search bar, a value proposition right in the middle, several promotions, and a footer with links and useful information (see the picture below).
Navigation. When creating the UX design of your e-commerce site, it is worth considering all the navigation so that your store is intuitive and consistent. To do this, you need to think about how the user will behave on your site, determine what action he wants to do, and simplify it as much as possible. All navigation buttons in mobile apps should be easy to position, wide enough to be tapped with a finger, and sparse enough not to miss a button or clutter up the space.
Filters. Oh, those endless dropdown product filters! And then, the user starts to get lost and think about switching to competitors. But don’t let them do it! Instead, provide them with such filters so that they stay on your site and be in maximum ecstasy from interacting with them. Whether you are applying horizontal UX filters to your online store or a more predictable sidebar, the type of filter also plays an important role. To improve the usability of filter UX design, pin the applied filters at the top for further customization. If your filter lists are too extensive to fit on the entire page, add a Show More button and make it visible enough.
